MY REFLECTION ON BLOG TRAINING JOURNEY

Blog writing, research, and entrepreneurship have always been my passions and dreams. On February 9, 2020, I conducted my first research. When collecting data, I realized that I lacked the skills of writing research paper and how to publish it, so I suspended.

For a while, I resumed doing research after completing one semester of learning how to conduct and write research. And on September 7, 2021, I conducted a survey on the widespread unemployment among young people living in Mogadishu, especially those who graduated from local universities, its reasons and how to solve it. Tirelessly, I tried to write an inspirational story about global entrepreneurs and create a blog site however I encountered many challenges.

While continuing my efforts, one of my friends told me that Somali Public Agenda wants to start blog writing training. I reached to them on the phone and one of their trainers, Mr. Farhan Isak Yusuf, who was my communication teacher at Mogadishu University and now the deputy director of SPA, told me to participate in the training.

Right away, I started the blog training. It was on July 23, 2022, my first day of training on blogging. The training brought together young people with high ambitions in blog writing and was interactive. The intention was to be trained on Saturday and Thursday for Four Weeks.

In the first week, we created a blog site and, took the session about blog writing and storytelling. At the end of each week, we wrote a blog post after the training instructors reviewed and gave feedback on what we had to write.

Each Thursday, the Center invites renown bloggers and social influencers to share their insights and experiences. During the four weeks of the training, four famous bloggers came to shared their blogging journeys and gave valuable tips. This rare opportunity opened the door for me and my fellow junior bloggers out there and gave us the confidence to connect with the world and write words inspire to build Somalia and a better World.

Finally, I would like to thank the entire Somali Public Agenda team for organizing this important training and for its role in empowering the youth who are keen to be researchers. Also, I hereby say thanks to Mahad Wasuge, the Director of SPA, and Hassan Gulled, known as Sadik Anod, the director of the Center for Learning and Development, and other mentors for their role during the training.

I will continue writing and I will regularly publish inspiring stories about global entrepreneurs; what they have succeeded in, how they have succeeded, and what can make a business fail. I will also continue conducting research so as writing reflections.
